Julia McVey

Julia McVeyJulia McVey is the founder of U-Can Coaching Services. She has extensive experience in the call centre and oil and gas industries, and works with individuals across a range of sectors.

With many years experience working for blue chip financial organisations Julia is passionate about excellent management and leadership skills. Julia says: “Successful organisations understand the need to view employees as internal customers and recognise that failure to invest in employees leads to poor quality for external customers. If employees understand the positive impact and contribution they make to businesses, their commitment to the success of that business will be greatly increased. Excellent, supervisory and management skills are the foundation of all successful organisations, sadly, the lack of best practice and training is all too evident where staff retention is low, stress is high and there is loss of market share.”
Since establishing her business in 2006, Julia has been focused on delivering real quality training to supervisors and managers in many industries. Even to the extent of delivering coaching to supervisors on an oil rig in the North Sea.  Delegates who attend her courses enjoy her passionate, enthusiastic style and leave with tangible skills that can be used in the workplace.
As a member of the Scottish Mentoring Network and Glasgow Mentoring Network, Julia has introduced many individuals and corporate organisations to the benefits of mentoring as a way to release potential.

Julia has trained as a coach with Curly Martin LLP, of Achievement Specialists, a course accredited by both the European Coaching Institute (ECI) and the Open College Network.

Executive Coaching

"Julia gave me the insight to realise that I am in control and confidence comes from valuing yourself from within, if you reframe the negative voices that we often have in our heads. Her focus on actions and then reviewing them at each meeting meant that I was able to acknowledge my achievements and feel that I was always moving in a positive direction. Many thanks, I would recommend to others who are going through a work / life balance dilemma. Thanks again!"
